Colorado Springs Shooting Leaves Six Dead

Six people are dead after a gunman entered a birthday party and began shooting inside a mobile home in Colorado Springs before killing himself early Sunday morning, reports the New York Times. Authorities say that the mass shooting unfolded around midnight Sunday at the Canterbury Mobile Home Park, about eight miles outside downtown Colorado Springs, and that the still-unidentified gunman was the boyfriend of one of the female victims. All of the victims, whose names and ages have yet to be released, were adults and none of the children in attendance were harmed. The Mother’s Day shooting in Colorado’s second-biggest city was the latest in a continually growing number of mass shootings around the country and comes less than two months after a gun attack at a King Soopers supermarket in Boulder that left 10 dead.
