Detectives are investigating a Thursday evening shooting that left one man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.
Just after 5:00 p.m., 911 callers reported a man had been shot near the intersection of Renton Avenue South and 43rd Avenue South. Witnesses said the suspect fled in a vehicle. Police arrived and immediately began providing aid to the victim who suffered a gunshot wound to the stomach. Seattle Fire Department responded to take over treatment and transported the 27-year-old victim to the hospital in stable condition.
Prior to the shooting, the suspect reportedly drove up to the victim who was standing on the sidewalk and the two exchanged words. The suspect then fired a single shot from his vehicle, striking the victim, and drove away.
