I don’t know if the whole Jack the Ripper case is old news on this subreddit (or anywhere else) at this point, but I had a question and I didn’t know where else to ask it.
This might be a really stupid question, but I’ll ask it nonetheless.
As you might know, witness Elizabeth Long had overheard a man (highly likely to be Jack the Ripper) talking to second victim Annie Chapman. Allegedly, she heard him say ‘Will you?’. If this were to be true, which I assume it is, would it not 1. Rule out the ‘Jill the Ripper’ theory completely, considering she would’ve heard a man’s voice; and 2. Have been possible to identify the murderer by letting her listen to the suspects’ voices?
